Workshops on everything from OpenStack to Kubernetes

Nothing is as valuable as knowledge that helps you directly – backed up with just enough theory to really understand the issues without getting too caught up in the details. German Edge Cloud’s experts work according to this simple principle every day – with their customers as well as with each other. And we also use this simple principle to plan our Kubernetes and OpenStack workshops. Our content is tailored to the challenges and the participants’ level of knowledge.

Comprehensive and hands-on:
Kubernetes workshops

What can you learn with German Edge Cloud? Who are the workshops for and how much do they cost?
For example, a workshop for engineers could include the following modules, which build on each other:

Bird's eye view

from physics to the orchestrated container. Basic overview of the German Edge Cloud platforms: hypervisors, availability zones, OpenStack, Kubernetes.

Introduction

e.g. meaning of software-defined networking, software-defined storage, security groups, roles, and rights.

Practical introduction

setting up the working environment and initial deployments in Kubernetes.

In-depth theory

e.g. deep-dive into ReplicationController, ReplicaSets, Kubernetes Services, PersistentVolume storage, multi-container environments, StatefulSets, deployment strategies (rollout and rollback).

Hands-on

architecture analysis as well as planning and design of the customer application.

FAQs for the Kubernetes workshop:

Who is the Kubernetes workshop for?

The German Edge Cloud experts are guided by the level of knowledge of the engineering team. Prerequisites are basic command line skills under Linux (such as bash, csh, zsh) and skills in packaging and deploying software. The number of participants is limited to five per group.

Where does the workshop take place?

At your premises or ours – whichever suits you.

How long does the workshop last?

For business decision makers, German Edge Cloud offers compressed and significantly less technically oriented workshops aimed at
helping you understand and evaluate the advantages of container technologies more clearly.

Expert knowledge based on operational experience since 2012
and worldwide memberships as technology drivers.

German Edge Cloud is a member of the CNCF and part of the Linux Foundation: Like other well-known companies, German Edge Cloud is committed to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s goal of promoting open-source software in the development of cloud native applications.

As a customer and participant in our workshops, you’ll benefit from the knowledge our experts have gained from their work on various committees. For example, we’ll know ahead of time where the technology of Kubernetes is heading, and will use that knowledge to help make you fit for the future.
