German Edge Cloud (GEC) and Schwarz Digits are joining forces to deliver industrial digitalization and AI applications on a sovereign European cloud infrastructure. This creates the foundation for industrial companies in Germany and across Europe to scale industrial AI and leverage it as a strategic competitive advantage—based on trusted infrastructures and with full control over their data.
At the core of the collaboration is the combination of Schwarz Digits’ STACKIT cloud with German Edge Cloud’s SaaS solution, ONCITE Digital Production System (DPS). The platform is specifically designed for industrial edge and cloud applications and enables the secure collection, processing, and cross-site use of production data.
Industrial AI Cloud made in Germany
With STACKIT, Schwarz Digits provides a powerful, GDPR-compliant cloud infrastructure “made in Germany,” consistently focused on data sovereignty. German Edge Cloud complements this with its extensive expertise in industrial digitalization, edge computing, and the structured preparation of production data for AI applications.
By combining their capabilities, the partners address key industrial requirements: data sovereignty, compliance, real-time capability, and scalability. Companies thus gain an integrated infrastructure that enables them to efficiently implement industrial AI applications—from individual production lines to globally connected production networks.
A key step for industrial digitalization in Europe
The combination of edge and cloud technologies makes it possible to process data where it is generated while simultaneously making it available for overarching analytics and AI models. This enables efficient implementation and cross-site scaling of use cases such as predictive maintenance, quality analytics, and process optimization.
“Industrial companies aiming to successfully deploy industrial AI need, above all, trust in the underlying infrastructure. With STACKIT, we have a strong European cloud partner at our side that understands the industry’s requirements and consistently delivers on data sovereignty”
says Dieter Meuser, CEO of German Edge Cloud.
Schwarz Digits also sees the partnership as an important step for industrial digitalization in Europe: “With German Edge Cloud, we are gaining a proven specialist in industrial edge and SaaS solutions. Together, we are creating an offering that combines industrial innovation with European cloud sovereignty,” says Daniel Traub, Head of Sales at Schwarz Digits.
The partnership is designed for the long term and forms the basis for further joint projects in the areas of industrial AI, edge-to-cloud architectures, and digital production ecosystems.
Initial insights into the collaboration will be presented at HANNOVER MESSE at the German Edge Cloud booth (Hall 16, Stand A16) and at Schwarz Digits (Hall 14, Stand J18).
